Okay, thanks to PZ Myers, here's a cool new way to fritter away a few minutes and tell the rest of the world more about yourself than you might really be comfortable doing. Go to iTunes or whatever software it is you use to play music. Open the entire library. Set play to random. What are the first ten things that come up?

Here are mine:

JS Bach
Mass in B Minor, BWV 232: Osanna, Benedictus, Agnus Dei, Dona Nobis Pacem \ Osanna in Excelsis (da Capo) (Chorus)
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Chorus (R. Shaw)

G Puccini
Cosi comanda Turandot
Turandot (At the Forbidden City of Beijing) (Z. Mehta)

Mary Black
Mo Ghile Mear
Collected

The Klezmatics
Mazltov, Zelda/Zeydns Tants
Shvaygn = Toyt

Milton Nascimento
Saidas e Bandeiras No. 1
Clube Da Esquina

Tony Rice
Stoney Creek
The Bluegrass Guitar Collection

George Jones
Walk Through This World with Me
The Essential George Jones

Iggy Pop
Real Wild Child
Blah Blah Blah

Grateful Dead
Oh, Boy!
Skull Fuck

REM
So. Central Rain
Reckoning

So, what about you?

Interesting, BTW, that a random search of both Myers's library and mine turns up a bit of the old Gaelic. He's got a mad goat, whilst I have a dashing hero. If you think I got the better deal, you're wrong. In a pinch, you see, one can always roast and eat the goat. They want a few hours' marinating, mind.

Iggy Pop and Bach...nice mix!

And, you know, in a sufficiently desperate pinch, one might also roast and eat the hero.

Young goat is fine. I have terrine de cabri in the fridge right now. Much nicer than curried macedonian.

Yes, but presumably the hero would be able to put up more resistance than the goat.

Well, this could be embarassing...let's see (title - artist, album)

Vladivostock - Camper Van Beethoven, Telephone Free Landslide Victory
One Day - Bjork, Debut
Sunshine Of Your Love - Cream, Disraeli Gears
Mr. Jones - Talking Heads, Naked
Eau d'Bedroom Dancing - Le Tigre, Le Tigre
La Land - The Go-Go's - God Bless the Go-Go's
Variation 10 - Glenn Gould, J.S. Bach Goldberg Variations
Willing and Able - Prince and the NPG, Diamonds and Pearls
Heart Attack - Sleater-Kinney, Call the Doctor
Some Velvet Sidewalk - Loch Ness, Kill Rock Stars

One of my co-workers rated every single song by stars in his iTunes, so he can play only the 5 star or 4-and-5-star songs in a shuffle.
