More evidence that I will never be as good as Matthew Turner at this sort of thing
Peter Cuthbertson experiences an altogether Damascene conversion.

He's being sarcastic. Not a conversion at all. But perhaps you were yourself being sarcastic, hard to tell in one sentence and sarcasm on sarcasm can make it difficult ot see just who's being sarcastic.
"Maybe we should think more of the criminal -- who probably has suffered from a broken home and poor education. Let our villians free! Looking at taxation it is clear to me that the rich are already too rich, and the poor poor through the fault of the rich. Let's soak them!"

Oh, and ( again, in case you weren't being sarcastic yourself ), did you notice that today if April 1st?

The significance of the date had not, as it happens, escaped my attention. Hence the attempt, vastly inferior to Matthew's, in the post below.
By the way, in the page this post links to, that's not Peter being sarcastic, it's Matthew being sarcastic about Peter. To fully appreciate Matthew's parody, you need first to be familiar with Peter's real website (click 'Conservative Commentary' in my blogroll and dig in to a heapin' plateful of mouthwaterin' tory deliciousness).

Or why I shouldn't read blogs right after waking up.
I did read Cuth's blogs a few times. I was really surprised when he said that Nixon had been one of the two best US presidents ( Reagan being the other one, of course ).
Does he truly represent the average Tory?
Est-ce que ta réponse s'est perdue dans l'ether internaute?

I couldn't say whether Peter represents the average Tory. Like most political groups they are at least a fair-to-middling-sized tent, and I'm sure there are some who would not feel Peter an apt mirror of their opinions (and, to be fair to Peter, he probably wouldn't want us to assume that every Tory is an adequate proxy for him).
That said he does seem (oddly so, given his youth) typical of a certain sort of Tory who is usually older, disgusted, and in Tunbridge Wells.
Quant à ma réponse (j'assume que tu réfères à une réponse courielle, if that's the right term): she doesn't exist yet. My Collins/Robert has just arrived, which should greatly expand my ability to reply, but also greatly slow it down. (My but you lot have a lot of words.)
